The Background

Kall Kwik Harrogate has been a client of Apogee’s for over 14 years. Prior to being an Apogee client, the one stop shop for all design, print & online solutions were using an incumbent supplier who provided only one brand of Production Print devices which were not performing to the standards they should have been for the content that was being produced.

Under the previous contract, all Kall Kwik franchises were under one contract which meant they could only produce work on specific Production Print devices. With above average monthly printing units, the print retailer were desperate for a variety of devices to help enhance their printing capabilities within the industry and take their work to the next level as well as benefiting from exemplary service and support.

The Solution

At the time, Kall Kwik Harrogate was using an outdated Print Production device which was predominantly used for letter heads, leaflets, brochures, any in-house design requirements and general footfall work from the local community. Any business that walked through the door, Kall Kwik were keen to fulfil it, so it was key that their devices delivered optimum uptime as well as on-demand servicing & support.

Apogee’s dedicated Production Print team approached Kall Kwik Harrogate and demonstrated the capabilities that alternative market-leading devices could produce for them. Following a site visit of Apogee’s Production Print offering in their Manchester facility, Kall Kwik were quick to jump on-board, enter into a multi-brand contract, and start refreshing their Production Print fleet.

Both parties were keen to replace the incumbent device and upgrade to a new higher specification model, perfect for the content Kall Kwik were producing. The Apogee Production Print team offered Kall Kwik two Konica Minolta 6000L devices which, at the time were the brand new 60 page a minute digital colour press and 95 page a minute mono machine. The Kall Kwik team were hugely impressed with the new devices which enabled them to really excel in the print world.

 

The Outcome

Following the initial device implementation, Kall Kwik have continued to upgrade their fleet of Production Print devices every three years with Apogee, which is standard for devices printing at those volumes. Under the Kall Kwik umbrella, Apogee also supply and service nine other franchises within the brand, providing the same high quality support and ensuring regular communication to make sure the fleet in place covers all areas of their production.

The high street one stop shop are continuing to push boundaries each month, printing on average 56,000 colour pages and 10,000 mono. With the new fleet, Apogee were able to save Kall Kwik over 10%, whilst guaranteeing a trustworthy & knowledgeable Production Print partner and nationwide service that is available around the clock, meaning productivity and output is at an all time high.
