TriPrint

TriPrint’s initial office-based print devices were not substantial enough machines to print on materials like heavy card and substrate – they have been working with Apogee consistently since 2012 to update their print fleet every three years.

From initial contact to full completion, the service was excellent. The engineers are fantastic and go above and beyond to solve any issues that we have.

We wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Apogee for their excellent on-going service.

Company Profile

  • Company Name: TriPrint
  • Sector: End-to-end printing solutions
  • Solutions ProvidedManaged Print Services

The Background

TriPrint has been a long term client of Apogee's, backdating to 2012. Based in the St. Helens town centre, a huge percentage of print retailers work consists largely of general footfall work from the local community. This is typically small format print work, ranging from business cards, letter heads, flyers and brochures for local business in the surrounding area.

Prior to working with Apogee, TriPrint was using a standard office based Canon device but it was not a substantive enough machine to be able to print on heavy card or substrate. This meant, although they were typically servicing local footfall, it was a limited marketplace due to the machines standard abilities.

By being provided with a more modern and digital press, TriPrint would be able to explore other avenues within the Production Print world and entertain clients of a larger nature which is key for them when wanting to expand their business.

The Solution

Apogee first approached TriPrint in 2012 after working with a number of similar print retailers to diversify their fleet. Initially, they surveyed the Production Print site and did a full audit of their technology and processes to find out which new machines would benefit the print retailer the most.

The Production Print team was able to recognise a gap in TriPrint's fleet and provide them with an alternative Konica Minolta device which was a 60 page per minute, 256 gram stock machine. This installation provided TriPrint with the brand new digital press which enabled them to benefit from better quality production and lower running costs. Servicing and support was also an added bonus from the implementation of the new Konica Minolta digital press, providing unrivalled device uptime which meant output and productivity was at an all time high for TriPrint.

Another key requirement which TriPrint is able to benefit from is sustainable materials. TriPrint was eager to find a device that complemented their CSR goals. With the Konica Minolta, all toners are plant based, drums are vegetable based and every plastic used within the device is recyclable. This was a huge win for the print retailer and enabled them to print on larger scales without the burden of CSR.

The Outcome

Following the initial device implementation back in 2012, TriPrint has continued to upgrade their fleet of Production Print devices every three years with Apogee, which is standard for devices printing at those volumes.

Each time TriPrint has upgraded their devices over the years they have become more and more sustainable and eco-friendly, all contributing towards their CSR goals. In more recent years, Apogee has developed a ‘plug and play’ reforestation application whereby TriPrint can see exactly how many trees are being reforested by them, through environmental data sheets from the device. With TriPrint averaging 25,000 colour prints and 25,000 mono prints per month, this is a huge benefit to the as it allows them to give back to the forestry systems on a larger scale.
